The team evaluates and monitors the ESG performance of GPs and of their underlying investments through an annual ESG survey completed online. SWEN CP publishes an extensive annual ESG report for all its funds. SWEN CP has put in place an ESG controversy monitoring tool that allows daily reporting of information on the main positions of portfolios managed and / or advised. Interviews are carried out on a regular basis with GPs in order to monitor and discuss their ESG practices as well as the key ESG priorities in their portfolio companies. SWEN CP has implemented an ESG Charter as well as a Responsible Investment Policy. Since 2013, SWEN CP has been collecting ESG data through annual ESG questionnaires. In 2019 SWEN CP worked with other French LPs to make uniform ESG questionnaires. The data collected over time has been used to determine ESG benchmarks at the GP and fund levels. SWEN CP has been holding the “ESG Best Practices Honours” event each year since 2013 in order to promote ESG and responsible investment practices. SWEN CP annually measures the carbon footprint of its funds. In 2017, SWEN CP defined its Climate Strategy. Among the stated commitments, for each new fund, SWEN CP pledges to allocate a fraction of its resources to «green assets». SWEN CP also benefits from the support of an independent climate expert within its investment advisory committee. Each investment is subject to an ESG analysis, which is reviewed by the investment committee. To determine the ESG performance of the companies evaluated, Tikehau Capital’s teams use qualitative analysis frameworks. These frameworks are based on the group’s overarching philosophy, but are adapted to each business line to take into account sector-specific factors. Certain geographic, behavioural or sector-based exclusion criteria apply to all activities The investment teams carry out annual ESG assessments of portfolio companies on the basis of a rigorous analysis frameworks. Some companies are also subject to an impact assessment to identify areas for improvement as well as competitive advantages related to ESG criteria. It is Tikehau Capital’s long-standing conviction that sustainable companies have growth potential and should be financed. Governance and social criteria have always been fundamental to the analyses carried out by Tikehau Capital’s teams to assess the economic health of companies and their future growth prospects. An ESG committee comprising senior members of Tikehau Capital steers, oversees and integrates the ESG strategy throughout the organisation. The ESG manager takes proactive steps to ensure that the ESG approach is consistent across the different investment business lines. The launch of an energy transition fund in 2018,the ESG labelling of 8 of Tikehau Investment Management funds and the award of the highest rating A + from the PRI reflects the company’s strong commitment to sustainable investment and the importance to fully integrate ESG consideration across all of Tikehau Capital’s activities.
