ESG criteria are included in the investment process thanks to a specific questionnaire. Ekkio Capital’s commitment to ESG stakes is mentioned in all acquisition documents. In 2019, Ekkio Capital implemented a systematic ESG review within portfolio companies with the help of an external and specialized consulting firm. 4 common thematic areas are defined to standardize the ESG reporting between all portfolio companies: environmental footprint (Environment), monitoring of suppliers (Supply chain), social footprint (Human capital) and governance. Each year, areas for improvement in ESG are identified for each portfolio company through a questionnaire on the Reporting 21 platform. Based on qualitative exchanges with the management, an action plan is built to improve the non-financial performances of each company. The evolution of ESG indicators is monitored over time on each portfolio company and communicated to LPs as part of the ESG reporting. Ekkio Capital has drafted a charter signed by all employees under which it commits to: be transparent with its LPs on its ESG initiatives and results. promote ESG initiatives within its portfolio companies, especially on following topics: carbon footprint, energy-saving and selective sorting measures, and of profit-sharing mechanisms for employees. self apply ESG recommendations by promoting a participative governance model, respecting professional and ethical rules, providing each collaborator with a fulfilling and rewarding work environment, supporting transparent and balanced social and wage policies and minimizing the environmental impact of its activity. Ekkio Capital is a signatory of the UN Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) since 2013, of environmental, social and good governance principles from France Invest, and is a member of the France Invest ESG committee. Ekkio Capital is a signatory of the ESG Charter of FSI France Investment and maintains strong relationships with its investors on ESG issues. This commitment was achieved in 2018. At the divestment phase, Eurazeo incorporates CSR information in order to measure the progress made by the company since its acquisition. This commitment was achieved in 2018. Eurazeo has laid down a CSR roadmap made available to all of its investments. Its aim is to see it deployed by all of them by 2020. The organization of acceleration programs and workshops, and the regular monitoring of performance indicators, are some examples of initiatives that Eurazeo undertakes to support its investments. In partnership with four other private equity companies, Eurazeo launched in 2015 « Initiative Climate 2020 » (or IC20), the first collective commitment by the French private equity industry in favor of fighting climate change. Since 2017, Eurazeo coordinates this initiative. Since 2017, Eurazeo carries out a carbon footprint measurement of its entire portfolio (Scopes 1, 2 and 3). In 2008, Eurazeo carries out an initial environmental assessment of the entire portfolio. In 2014, Eurazeo defines its CSR strategy incorporating quantified targets for 2020. To achieve the objectives, the strategy is declined in four pillars, the third part being a CSR roadmap distributed to investments. Since 2015, Eurazeo measures CSR avoided impacts by its investments. Over these eight last years, companies avoided the equivalent of 942,000 tons of CO2, nearly 11 million cubic meters of water, more than 2,400 GWh of energy and nearly 407,000 hours of absence. In 2017, Eurazeo conducted the first socioeconomic footprint survey in the private equity sector. This survey initially carried out on Eurazeo PME was extended to the entire Eurazeo group in 2018 to obtain a more comprehensive view of its impact on employment and the creation of economic value. In 2019, Eurazeo’s presence within the five families of ESG benchmark indices (Ethibel Sustainability Index, Euronext Vigeo, MSCI World ESG and Low Carbon Leaders, FTSE4Good and STOXX Low Carbon et ESG Leaders) was confirmed. EVOLEM is therefore committed to developing these issues at each step of its investment process, particularly through environmental and social audits, as well as through the drafting of documents regulating governance principles within its portfolio companies. ESG criteria are also internally studied and analyzed during investment boards and team meetings. As a responsible investor, EVOLEM raises awareness of ESG topics among its portfolio companies, and annually collects certain ESG data, both quantitative and qualitative. Indeed, an annual ESG report has been in place for several years. This report is followed up with a qualitative exchange on ESG issues. These data allow its portfolio companies to share their best practices in order to improve the global performance of the company and to create sustainable value. Since July 2013, EVOLEM has been a signatory of the PRI (Principles of Responsible Investment), which is an international network of investors working together to provide a benchmark on environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) issues. In a continuous effort to improve ESG reporting efficiency, EVOLEM’s teams participate in exchange workshops organised by the PRI to revise and to improve the questionnaire. Social commitment is at the heart of Bruno ROUSSET’s entrepreneurial vision. Since its creation in 1997, EVOLEM has chosen to place the community at the heart of its actions, in line with the values of its founder. Here are a few examples of this commitment : Fondation Entrepreneurs de la Cité (2006), Groupe Id’ées (2008), l’Entreprise des Possibles (2019). Created in 2014, EVOLEM Citoyen participates in the fields of employment, training, educational orientation and entrepreneurship. EVOLEM Citoyen prioritises youth employment (Key4job, le Foyer Notre-Dame des Sans-Abri, l’Ouvre-Boîte). In 2017, EVOLEM and EVOLEM Citoyen teamed up with Insign (one of EVOLEM’s portfolio companies) in order to co-found EDEN School, the first digital school aimed at the under-18s. Other EVOLEM portfolio companies support this social innovation through sponsorship or the payment of their apprenticeship tax. Within the portfolio companies, FCDE works alongside management to set appropriate ESG objectives with regard to the business and to establish the resulting improvement plans. FCDE, an institutional fund with top-tier private (banks, insurers) and public subscribers (BPI), has always factored in ESG topics in its investment approach, without necessarily using a highly formalised process. In the period 2015-2016, the entire team, organised in project mode, engaged in a reflection process where the ESG policy was formalised. This collective endeavour resulted in principles, procedures and processes that are now being applied to each investment transaction, from due diligence to exit. The ESG approach is managed by a three-person team at the corporate level and by all team members in terms of the investment process and the monitoring of portfolio companies. In annual ESG committee meetings, FCDE identifies action plans and progress reports for each portfolio company’s ESG objectives. The portfolio companies reply to an annual questionnaire on all ESG themes. Since 2018, FCDE prepares a dedicated annual ESG report in collaboration with a specialised consulting firm. FCDE is involved in promoting ESG topics within the financial community and participates in France Invest’s ESG commissions and in conferences and debates on this subject. € 400M ESG VENDOR DUE DILIGENCES Historically, FCDE has not carried out specific ESG vendor due diligence during exits.
