WCPaccompagne ses participations dans la mise en place d’une feuille de route extra-financière. La société d’investissement effectue un suivi annuel des performances ESG de ses participations grâce à un questionnaire de 140 questions sous format Saas, dont les réponses alimentent le rapport annuel ESG de chaque fonds. Pour le fonds Impact Investing une démarche spécifique est mise en œuvre, elle est plus exigeante que la démarche ESG classique : sélection de sociétés ayant un impact positif avéré sur l’environnement ou la société, accompagnement à la transformation, mise en place de critères d’impact ad hoc et mesure de la trajectoire de progrès par un tiers. La société a défini une politique d’investissement responsable. Un Comité ESG a été créé en 2016, il est présidé par Serge Weinberg. Il se réunit deux fois par an pour déterminer les grands axes ESG et les moyens à allouer. En 2019, la société a lancé un fonds dédié à l’impact investing, WCP IMPACT DEV#1, proposant des solutions de financement aux PME et ETI françaises ayant un impact positif sur l’environnement ou la société. WCP soutient chaque année plusieurs associations dans les domaines de l’éducation, de la recherche et de la santé l’Institut Télémaque, association qui accompagne les élèves méritants issus de milieu défavorisés, sera bénéficiaire d’une partie de la surperformance du fonds WCP IMPACT DEV#1. Par ailleurs, la société s’engage à promouvoir en interne la diversité, la convivialité au travail, la société a été labellisée « Happy at Work » en 2019. Enfin, WCP a fait réaliser son empreinte carbone et cherche à limiter ses émissions carbones. Since 2016, both Activa Capital and the management of portfolio companies define the action plan to be deployed during the holding period. This plan, based on the ESG DD conclusions, is monitored at least at each supervisory board. Activa Capital also supports its portfolio companies through ESG monitoring, sharing project ideas and methodological tools in order to concretely support the implementation of the ESG strategy. In 2016, Activa Capital joined IC France, which aims to better integrate the challenge of reducing carbon emissions. Within this framework, Activa Capital contributed to the development of a tool to measure the carbon emissions of scopes 1 & 2. In 2017, Activa Capital signed the Manifesto to Decarbonise Europe, launched in the wake of the 2017 French presidential elections by the The Shift Project association. In 2020, Activa Capital steered the Awareness Workshop of Climate Initiative France. Activa Capital is one of the first management companies within the French Private Equity industry to be committed to ESG matters by signing the PRI in 2010 and co-founding the Sustainable Development Club of France Invest the same year. For direct investments included in ESG funds, after closing, Amundi’s ESG analysis team implements monitoring of the investments throughout the holding period of such investments. An ESG action plan and annual monitoring is put in place with respect to any material ESG challenges that the company may face. Amundi PEF undertakes to give consideration to sustainable development when conducting its business operations and to apply corporate social responsibility (CSR). Amundi PEF undertakes to comply with the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) policy of the Amundi group. Amundi PEF has signed the Investment Capital Charter of France Invest (French association of investors for growth) and participates in existing working groups, in particular France Invest’s ESG committee. In 2019, Amundi PEF updated its ESG charter and its questionnaires. In its quality of minority investor (for direct investments) or as multi-manager in private equity funds, Amundi PEF does not carry out vendor due diligence. ESG VENDOR DUE DILIGENCES With respect to direct investments in enterprises and corporates, Amundi PEF: applies Amundi’s exclusion policy for all its funds; integrates a specific ESG analysis in its investment process for the funds that are subject to ESG management constraints; each investment is subject to ESG due diligence as performed by Amundi’s ESG analysis team. With respect to multi-management and investments in private equity funds, Amundi PEF’s due diligence process entails assessing the integration of ESG criteria by the selected funds by means of a questionnaire. A summary of the ESG analysis is then included in every investment memorandum submitted to the Investment Committee, which is ultimately responsible for the investment recommendation. When exiting a company, Ardian may proceed to an ESG vendor due diligence (VDD) when appropriate. This initiative involves a systematic materiality analysis of climate issues for each portfolio company in ESG reviews. Ardian calculated its carbon footprint at company level, taking into account both direct and indirect emissions (scope 1, 2 and 3) for the years 2013, 2014, 2015, 2019 and 2020. Ardian published its Responsible Investment Policy in 2016. For its Real Estate activity, Ardian evaluates properties performance using its proprietary tool on a regular basis and participated in the GRESB assessment for the first time in 2019. Ardian has set up a profit-sharing scheme consisting of the payment of bonuses to the employees of exited companies. Since 2008, Ardian has distributed the equivalent of 1-6 months salary to over 25 thousand employees of 34 exited portfolio companies. In 2019, Ardian developped its proprietary Sustainability Measurement Methodology based on UN Sustainable Development Framework, Impact Management Project and Theory of Change. The same year, Ardian joined the Investor Leadership Network (ILN). We are contributing to the ILN’s diversity work stream. In 2020, further commited to diversity and inclusion by being one for the founding signatories of Institutional Limited Partners Association (ILPA)’s new Diversity in Action initiative and by joining afterwards Level 20, an organization dedicated to improving gender diversity in European private equity industry.
