The result is presented to the Investment Commitee in the form of an ESG memo. The analysis is produced hand-in-hand with the investment team, and external consultants when relevant. Once the investment has been made, PAI Partners conducts an ESG induction and draws up a targeted ESG action plan with the help of external consultants. PAI Partners monitors its portfolio companies through an annual ESG reporting campaign, which includes between 120 and 140 indicators. This reporting campaign, together with a close relationship with the ESG representatives in our portfolio, enables the creation of an ESG roadmap, discussed every year at Board level for each of our portfolio companies, and a specific ESG performance dashboard. PAI Partners is one of the five founders of “Initiative Carbone 2020” launched in November 2015. Every year PAI Partners assesses the carbon footprint of all its investments, taking into account direct and indirect emissions (scope 1,2 and 3), analyses the exposure of its portfolio to climate-related risks and opportunities, and builds climate roadmaps (including carbon reduction targets aligned with the Paris Agreement) for the biggest emitters in its portfolio. Since 2011, PAI meets with the sustainability managers of portfolio companies in person once a year, at the PAI Sustainability Club. The 21st edition was organised in January 2022. PAI Partners has been conducting ESG portfolio reviews since 2011, and publishes a Sustainability Report for its investors every year. Since 2014, PAI Partners has a dedicated ESG team. Since 2017, PAI Partners organises during the course of the year their ESG Labs, to share views with its portfolio companies and stakeholders on responsible investment. In 2021, the ESG Lab was transformed into a virtual collaborative platform, to further enhance the level of discussion with investors and the ESG ecosystem, looking at a specific topic of interest: https://esglab.paipartners.com PAI Partners provides an ESG VDD in the Data Room including an updated action plan, a progress report, and ESG documents provided by the company during the holding period. When relevant, the VDD may be performed by external consultants. AREAS OF EXPERTISE LBO ESG TEAM ASSETS UNDER MANAGEMENT €22,4Bn Contact: esg.team@paipartners.com Frederike KRESS ESG Associate. A signatory of the France Invest Charter since 2008, Qualium adopted a Responsible Investment Charter in 2014 and revised it in 2021 to aim for more ambitious objectives. Qualium Fund III fund is categorised as an Article 8 product as per the European regulation 2019/2088 (SFDR regulation): Qualium is committed to ensuring that all investments made by the fund progress on ESG issues. This progress is measured using key sustainability indicators specific to each company, identified during the pre- acquisition phase, in addition to those already monitored in the ESG reporting exercise. All data collected is communicated transparently to investors. “Value sharing creates value” : particular emphasis will be placed on the sharing of value creation within the management company and portfolio companies for this third fund. Progress in reducing carbon footprint is assessed annually at portfolio level but also at management company level (scope 1, 2, 3) since 2014, covering the entire value chain. In 2020, Qualium joined the International Climate Initiative (iCi) and committed to formally integrating the climate factor into its investment processes and working with its investments to reduce emissions. Every year, all Qualium employees attend an ESG training session. In 2022, the company’s employees took part in a climate workshop, two of whom attended as trainers. ESG VDDs are carried out on an ad hoc basis depending on company activity and the urgency of ESG issues. Examples: Sogal (2017) - IMV Technologies (2021) - Invicta (2022). ESG SUPPORT TO PORTFOLIO COMPANIES An ESG survey is sent annually to all portfolio companies to monitor and measure their commitment and level of maturity. In 2021 Qualium identified the contributions of portfolio companies to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
